If you are on a diet and love to snack in between meals, you shouldn’t be snacking on meals that contain a lot of fat and calories like potato chips or other high calorie snacks like candy or chocolates. Yes they taste good, but they contain a lot of fat and calories which aren’t good for you in the long run.
There are other types of food that you can snack on, that actually burn more calories than they contain so you can eat as much of the as you like without feeling guilty or gaining extra weight, which make them the perfect snacks to eat between meals.

Watermelons
These make great snacks because they are sweet, and juicy, a lot of people eat watermelons because they taste good, but they don’t know that it only contains 85 calories which you will burn off just by chewing and spitting out the seeds, making it a great snack.
Celery
They have a lot of sugar and salt but only contain 6 calories a stick, that doesn’t mean you should drench it in ranch dressing which contains a lot of calories and fat. You can pack some up to take to work with you as a mid-day snack, or you can mix it with other low calorie foods.
Oranges
Oranges are one of the best low calorie foods to eat, because you can eat them at any time of the day. You can eat oranges with your breakfast, snack on them during the day, or squeeze a few of them and make orange juice. They only contain 45 calories each so you don’t have to feel guilty about eating a few during the day, and they are also a good source of Vitamin C, which is why they are one of the most popular low calorie foods.
Grapefruit
Even though they are bigger than oranges, they don’t have too many calories. Half of a grapefruit only has 36 calories, and contains 78% of the daily amount of potassium you should ingest. Some people don’t like the bitter taste of grapefruit, if you are one of those people; you can cut it up and mix it with sweeter fruit like oranges or watermelons instead of adding sugar.
Carrots
They are mostly known to be good for the eyes, but carrots also make great snacks, especially baby carrots. You can snack on a bag of baby carrots in between meals because they only have 4 calories, you can also use them to make low fat coleslaw with some fat free mayonnaise.
Strawberries
These are also popular snacks; you can slice them into your breakfast cereal, or eat them as snacks. They are sweet and juicy, and only contain 4 calories, so you can snack on them all day without feeling guilty. You can also mix it up and make a fruit bowl from strawberries and other low calorie fruits.
Lettuce
They only contain 5 calories, and can be used to make a healthy salad that you can eat in between meals when you are at work or at home. You can eat your salad with dressing, just don’t use too much, or substitute with low fat dressing.
