#1 The Birth Of Baby Leo
On 21 January, baby Leo was born with Down’s Syndrome to a mother who didn’t want him. But his father, Samuel Forrest is determined on bringing up his son on his own.
#2 Dad, Samuel Forrest
Samuel Forrest was beyond excited to meet his newborn son, but he had no idea just how much the encounter would change his life.
#3 Dad Is Overjoyed
He told ABC News, “They took me in to see him and I looked at this guy and I said, he’s beautiful, he’s perfect and I’m absolutely keeping him”.
#4 Baby Leo’s Mom
Unfortunately Samuel’s wife who is baby Leo’s mom did not share the same feelings. She reportedly gave dad an ultimatum, saying if he wanted to keep the baby, she would divorce him.
#5 A Pending Divorce
Then when Samuel made the decision to keep his son, he was handed divorce papers a week later after Leo was born.
#6 Mother Is From Armenia
Baby Leo was born in Armenia, where his mother is from. Currently she refuses to look at or touch the newborn for fear of getting attached. In Armenia, child defects are not accepted and considered shameful on the family involved.
#7 Dad To Raise Baby Leo
Dad is now planning to raise Leo as a single father back in his native country of New Zealand, where he can be near friends and family for support.
#8 High Childcare Costs
Samuel who’s struggling as a freelance business contractor has created a GoFundMe page called “Bring Leo Home”, as the costs to raise Leo will be high.
#9 Fundraising For Leo
Wonderfully the fundraising page with GoFundMe has raised more than $100,000 in less than 24 hours!
